Join us for the second annual BAREFOOT Triathlon on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, September 5, 2010.  The event is named for our official lifestyle magazine BAREFOOT, which reflects the active lifestyle of living and playing in beautiful northern Michigan.

Swim. Athletes will gather at our private beach on East Grand Traverse Bay and swim in the crystal clear and shallow waters of the the bay.

Bike. The road course will take cyclists through the dense woods of the Deepwater Point residential area, across US-31 and into the rolling, orchard-filled countryside north of the Resort.

Run. Athletes will cover the perimeter of the Resort property by foot, with the Olympic distance competitors also venturing into the nearby countryside.

There are two race categories to choose from:
*Olympic: 1.5-kilometer swim ~ 26-mile bike ~ 6.2-mile run. 
*Sprint: 500-meter swim ~ 16.4-mile bike ~ 3.1-mile run.

We're also offering a Relay Team division (2 or 3 triathletes per team) and a "Fastest Company in TC" competition for area businesses.

Participation is limited to 300 triathletes. The races will start at 8:00 a.m. at the Resort’s Shores Beach Club on East Grand Traverse Bay and finish at the Resort’s main facility.

Afterwards, be sure to invite your friends (and fans) and join us Sunday evening for the "BAREFOOT Bash" Awards Party along the shores of East Grand Traverse Bay. You'll enjoy a beach-side dinner, live reggae music and amazing sunset views over East Grand Traverse Bay. Access is complimentary for all registered triathletes. Friends and family may purchase tickets at the door for $25 per person (children 6-12 are $15/pp; children 5 and under are free).
